CFS RETURNS, WARRANTY & EXCHANGES POLICY

RETURNS, WARRANTY & EXCHANGES POLICY

Cricket + Football Shop

This Returns, Warranty & Exchanges Policy applies to all purchases made from Cricket + Football Shop, operated by Strachan Sports Pty Ltd ATF Strachan Family Trust ("Cricket + Football Shop", "CFS", "we", "our" or "us").

This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Our Commitment

We take pride in supplying quality cricket and football equipment backed by knowledgeable service and genuine customer support.

If you experience an issue with a product purchased from Cricket + Football Shop, we'll work with you to find an appropriate solution as quickly and fairly as possible.

Warranty assessments are completed individually, taking into account the product, its condition, the nature of the issue and any applicable manufacturer's warranty.

For all enquiries relating to returns, exchanges, repairs or warranties, please contact our team before sending any items back to us.

Phone: (08) 9434 2965

Email: info@cricketfootballshop.com.au

2. Returning Products

Unless advised otherwise, returned products should be sent to:

Cricket + Football Shop

Unit 6, 36 Port Kembla Drive

Bibra Lake WA 6163

Australia

Please include:

  • your full name;
  • order or invoice number;
  • contact phone number;
  • a brief description of the issue.

To reduce the risk of damage during transport, all products should be securely packaged.

Cricket + Football Shop cannot accept responsibility for items damaged during return transit due to inadequate packaging.

We recommend using registered post or a courier service that provides tracking and proof of delivery.

3. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Depending on the nature of the issue, you may be entitled to:

  • a repair;
  • a replacement;
  • a refund; or
  • compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights exist independently of any manufacturer's warranty.

4. Change of Mind Returns

If you've changed your mind about a purchase, we're happy to assist provided the following conditions are met.

Items must:

  • be returned within 15 days of delivery;
  • be unused;
  • be in their original packaging;
  • include all tags, accessories and documentation;
  • be in a condition suitable for resale.

Once your returned item has been inspected and approved, you may choose either:

  • an exchange; or
  • a refund using the original payment method (less any applicable cancellation or payment processing fees where relevant).

Unless the return is due to our error or a faulty product, return postage is the customer's responsibility.

5. Products That Cannot Be Returned

For hygiene, safety or product-specific reasons, some items cannot be returned unless they are faulty or required under Australian Consumer Law.

These include:

  • prepared cricket bats (including bats that have been knocked-in or fitted with Extratec);
  • customised or personalised products;
  • clearance or final sale items (where stated);
  • gift cards;
  • products that have been used, damaged or altered after delivery.

6. Cricket Bat Warranty

Cricket bats are manufactured from natural willow.

Because willow is a natural material that is repeatedly struck by a hard cricket ball, signs of wear such as seam marks, surface indentations and minor cracking are a normal part of the bat's life and are not, by themselves, manufacturing defects.

Proper preparation and ongoing maintenance play an important role in maximising both performance and longevity.

Cricket + Football Shop strongly recommends:

  • correctly knocking-in all English Willow bats before use;
  • regular oiling where appropriate;
  • fitting an Extratec protective sheet;
  • avoiding prolonged use against bowling machines;
  • using an older or lower-grade bat for bowling machine practice.

Failure to properly prepare or maintain a bat may affect warranty eligibility.

7. English Willow Bat Warranty

Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer:

  • English Willow bats include a 12-month manufacturer's warranty from the original purchase date.
  • Replacement bats continue under the original warranty period and do not receive a new warranty term.

Warranty claims are assessed by the manufacturer, who may determine whether the bat should be:

  • repaired;
  • replaced;
  • declined; or
  • credited where appropriate.

Warranty approval remains at the manufacturer's discretion where applicable.

8. What the Bat Warranty Covers

Where a manufacturing defect exists, warranty consideration generally applies to:

  • the blade;
  • the handle; and
  • workmanship.

Each claim is individually assessed after inspection.

9. What the Bat Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not extend to damage resulting from:

  • normal wear and tear;
  • surface cracking;
  • edge, shoulder or toe damage;
  • yorker impacts;
  • bowling machine use;
  • use of non-leather or composite balls;
  • excessive use;
  • water, moisture or heat damage;
  • inadequate preparation;
  • over-oiling;
  • misuse or abuse;
  • accidental damage;
  • third-party repairs or modifications;
  • removal of manufacturer labels or identification;
  • thread wrapped around the face of the bat;
  • use of excessively hard practice balls.

Similarly, breaks resulting from mishits or improper use are not regarded as manufacturing faults.

10. Kashmir Willow Bats

Unless otherwise specified, Kashmir Willow bats are supplied with a 6-month manufacturer's warranty covering manufacturing defects only.

11. Warranty for Other Products

In addition to cricket bats, a range of products sold by Cricket + Football Shop are covered by manufacturer warranties against defects in materials or workmanship.

Unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer:

Cricket Shoes

Cricket shoes include a 6-month manufacturer's warranty covering manufacturing defects such as:

  • faulty stitching;
  • sole separation;
  • defective spikes;
  • manufacturing faults.

Normal wear and tear, excessive use and damage caused by misuse are not covered.

Helmets

Helmets include a 6-month manufacturer's warranty covering manufacturing defects and faults in adjustment mechanisms.

Damage resulting from impact with a cricket ball or any other object is not covered, as helmets are designed to absorb impact and should be replaced where their protective integrity may have been compromised.

Kit Bags & Protective Equipment

Kit bags and protective equipment are generally covered by a 6-month manufacturer's warranty against defects such as:

  • faulty stitching;
  • split seams;
  • defective zips;
  • wheel failures (where applicable).

Cosmetic scuffing, fabric wear and damage resulting from normal use are not considered manufacturing defects.

12. Repairs

Where a product can be repaired without affecting its intended function, safety or performance, Cricket + Football Shop or the manufacturer may elect to repair the item rather than replace it.

Repairs completed under warranty are provided at no additional charge where the claim has been approved.

A successful repair does not create a new warranty period. The original warranty continues from the initial purchase date.

13. Warranty Assessment Process

Each warranty claim is assessed individually.

Depending on the product and manufacturer, you may be asked to provide:

  • proof of purchase;
  • photographs of the product;
  • a description of the fault;
  • the product itself for inspection.

Once assessed, one of the following outcomes may apply:

  • repair;
  • replacement;
  • refund;
  • store credit (where appropriate); or
  • rejection of the claim where no manufacturing fault is identified.

Where manufacturer approval is required, assessment timeframes may vary.

14. Replacement Products

Where a replacement product is approved, Cricket + Football Shop will aim to supply the same:

  • brand;
  • model;
  • size;
  • specification; and
  • colour where available.

If the original product has been discontinued or is unavailable, we may offer:

  • an equivalent replacement;
  • store credit equal to the original purchase price; or
  • another remedy consistent with Australian Consumer Law.

Replacement products do not commence a new warranty period. The balance of the original warranty continues to apply.

15. Warranty Processing Times

We understand customers want their equipment returned as quickly as possible.

Most warranty assessments are completed promptly; however, where manufacturer approval or specialist repairs are required, processing may take up to 20 business days.

Where delays occur, we will endeavour to keep you informed of the progress of your claim.

16. Exchanges

Eligible products may be exchanged within 15 days of delivery, provided they satisfy the conditions outlined in this policy.

Exchange items will be dispatched after the original product has been received and inspected.

Where the replacement item differs in price:

  • any additional amount payable must be paid before dispatch; or
  • any balance owing will be refunded using the original payment method where appropriate.

Additional postage charges may apply for exchanges unless the exchange results from our error or a confirmed warranty issue.

17. Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method wherever possible.

Please allow several business days for financial institutions to complete the refund once it has been processed by Cricket + Football Shop.

Shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless:

  • the product is faulty;
  • we supplied the incorrect item; or
  • Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.

18. Return Shipping

Unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law:

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs where:

  • returning products due to change of mind;
  • exchanging products;
  • lodging warranty claims requiring inspection.

Customers are encouraged to use a tracked delivery service and retain proof of postage.

Cricket + Football Shop Responsibility

Where a return results from:

  • an incorrect item being supplied;
  • a confirmed manufacturing fault;
  • an error made by Cricket + Football Shop;

we will reimburse or arrange reasonable return shipping costs.

19. Order Cancellations

If an order is cancelled after payment has been processed, payment providers may retain non-refundable transaction fees.

Current cancellation fees are:

Credit & Debit Cards

  • Australian cards: 2% of the transaction value
  • International cards: 4.5% of the transaction value

Zip Pay & Afterpay

Orders cancelled after processing incur a 6% cancellation fee to recover charges imposed by the payment provider.

PayPal

Where PayPal does not retain transaction fees, eligible cancellations will receive a full refund.

If an order has already been dispatched, the cancellation will instead be managed under this Returns, Warranty & Exchanges Policy.

20. Limitation of Warranty

Except where required by Australian Consumer Law, manufacturer warranties apply only to the original purchaser and are not transferable.

Cricket + Football Shop is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of any product, including loss of play, competition entry fees, travel costs or other associated expenses.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any consumer guarantees that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.
